The pleasure of creation is infinite and Wings over the World was immensely enjoyable to do.
Using Photoshop, I began with a coastal scene from Unsplash.com, a good site for free images.
I overlaid this with another Unsplash photograph by Oliver Berghold of seagulls, which I set to the ‘Hard Light’ blend mode.
I followed with a texture from 2 Lil’ Owls in ‘Multiply’ mode at 82%.
The next stage was selecting only the seagulls from that photograph and making these into a separate layer to go over the texture. This I put in ‘Multiply’ mode at 61%.
The final touch was a Kim Klassen texture in ‘Colour Burn’ mode.
The resulting image is below. I’m rather fond of it. I hope you are too.

Take care and keep laughing!
The picture is as green as my envy. You have a fine talent Sarah. What programme do you use that gives all these modes and options? I use something called Print Artist Platinum( plated I think) which has nothing like this.Mind you, if it did I still lack the talent to visualise an end product.

I must add that in – I use Photoshop. As for your talent, you won’t know what you’re capable of until you try! Photoshop is expensive but I think there’s a limited version you can get. And there are various free apps that can do similar but I can’t think of their names at the moment. Huge Huglets. xx

Gorgeous. I have Photoshop but I think it’s a bit beyond me. No, I agree with David, it’s talent, Sarah.

I use Photoshop etc because of my disabilities. If I could still hold and manage a brush, I would be so I’m very envious of you, Mary. I’m so glad you like this – thank you.

Very lovely artwork Sarah! You are a master at layering and photo enhancement. Thank you for sharing the Unsplash sight. I found so many awesome photos that are inspiring to me.
For those that can’t afford Photoshop, you might look into downloading Gimp. You can download it freely at gimp.org. There might be a learning curve, but there are loads of tutorials that can help you learn the basics at least.

Thanks, Itaya. Gimp. That’s the one I was trying to think of! I could never get to grips with it.
