EGRET: ORIGIN Middle English: from Old French aigrette, from Provençal aigreta, from the Germanic base of heron.
Oh, the utter joy of finding the right texture for the right photograph and creating something entirely other. I didn’t have to go far since one of the textures I’ve used for Reflecting Egret is one I created myself. The other is from Kerstin Frank. The photograph I’ve sandwiched between the two is by Laitche and from Wikimedia. I discovered it when I was looking for a pelican for the most recent Cover Makeover.

I watch an egret in the local river, standing just like this one, elegant and patient. This captures their essence, Sarah, well done indeed.
Best wishes, Pete. x

Thank you very much, sweet Janet. I’m trying to keep smiling but my jaw aches somewhat after a tooth extraction on Monday! xxx

I do hate going to the dentist…..and there is not much worse than a related tooth problem….however, hopefully this will pass so that you can enjoy a lovely weekend. Janet. xxx keep smiling:)

It’s never bothered me too much but the last fifteen years have been difficult to cope with as my condition affects my gums so it doesn’t matter how good I am about cleaning, the likelihood of teeth coming out is par for the course. Hey ho!

Oh my gosh Sarah, wow and now a favorite. Brilliant work getting the atmosphere mysteriously ethereal (as Janet mentioned) – allowing the muted white of the egret to take center stage. Love it!
