I’ve been looking through the free themes provided by WordPress and have decided to experiment. It could all go horribly wrong as it did a long time ago when I tried another theme — it was far from a seamless process. I gave up trying to make the other theme work for my content and went back to Tarski.
I have chosen the Cubic Theme, as above, with which to experiment. If it doesn’t work for me in practice, I’ll be hot-footing it back to Tarski … this is the part that is likely to go ‘horribly wrong’ if my previous experience is anything to go by.
You have been warned!
Take care and keep laughing!
Looking good so far, Sarah. I haven’t dared to try a new theme in ages.

I’m glad you think so, Olga. I’m happy so far although there are still a few elements I need to adjust.

Looks like it’s working. I hate changing themes and tend not to do it until they stop supporting the one I’m using. If it ain’t broke…

Yes, it is! I was getting fed up with the limitations of Tarski after a decade so that as well as changing to Cubic, I’ve gone for the cheapest upgrade to give me just that bit more control.

I haven’t changed my theme in a long while now. I have only changed once from the original in eight years. It takes time for the blogger and their readers to get used to, then it starts to feel ‘normal’ again.
Best wishes, Pete. x

Normal? Nothing feels normal in 2020! My problem has been that FND has to promote my art to boost my income and I’ve never felt Tarski offered me the best showcase. Onwards and upwards.

Good luck. I’m in the process of not only changing my theme but switching from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. And my head is spinning.

Oh boy! I want a .org too but I simply haven’t found the answers by searching WP yet. When your head is spinning less, any pointers would be welcome!

This theme looks really good. Nicely compartmentalises your articles. Hope it works out well for you!

I’ve stuck with the same theme for 7 years now. It’s a simple theme, but there is less to go wrong.

That’s exactly why I stuck with Tarski for a decade!

Looking good so far,fingers/toes/eyes crossed. I ‘m love’em, leave’em lady when it comes to theme loyalty. I just have to jump around, that is why I break things. I like there’s so much white space tho I tend to find a way to always fill mine up. ♥️

I’m glad you like it. I love white space but I discover a widget and think ‘Ooh ah! Got to have it.’
