Good morning dear Sarah -reading your blog is is always a lovely way to begin my day. Having grown up in Kent, not too far from Sissinghurst, I have always been interested in the goings-on of Vita Sackville-West and company, including of course Violet Trefusis. I often wonder what they would have thought had they woken up in today’s world – what a shock! Thank you for getting my brain waves moving – and enjoy the day…..keep smiling:) Janet. xx

What a lovely thought that I’ve got your brain waves moving! I haven’t been to Sissinghurst since the early ’80s when I was working at the Leas Pavilion in Folkestone. I long to go again. I do remember me and another actor taking photographs of each other mimicking the poses of the statues!

Now I’m putting Sissinghurst in my list. I lived in Rodmell for a while so visited Virginia Wolfe’s house a few time and her sister’s farm but I missed that one.
