First Night Design | The Swan Also Rises Three Times

What can I say? I’m exhausted. The internet connection is so bad that I’ve decided to give up making the immense effort needed to simply ‘like’ blog posts or do anything much except prepare a post or two and reblog on First Night History and Rogues & Vagabonds. Ever heard of the expression ‘getting blood out of stone’? The good news is that the next bandwidth month starts on 8th February so expect a flurry of activity! There will be no flurry, mind you, if all this is the fault of the service provider and continues beyond the 8th. My thoughts are unprintable.

    1. Thank you all for the lovely compliments. Alas, it’s looking mightily like it’s the network operator as today is the start of the new month and while some actions are quicker, some are not. And it’s very, very windy today, which often affects the connection. Hey ho!

  1. That is amazing! I love the somewhat antique feel of the design, with the lettering in the background. I live near a lake with swans on it, they are fine creatures.

  2. Ack! You poor dear. Having to deal with internet issues can be quite frustrating. Hopefully after the 8th it will be much better for you! I grew up with the saying ‘You can’t get blood out of a turnip’. hahaha Very similar to your statement. I love this lovely Swan design. How gorgeous it must look on pillows and tossed about the room. 🙂

  3. The timing of reblogging The Modern Salonniere on Last Post is coincidental, because it was already scheduled, but please accept as consolation present for all the frustration. You would be up in arms if you lived in my backwater, too, where erratic connection is tyrannical BT’s fault!
