A nicely illustrated tale of an excellent trip back in time on the island of Crete. When I visited Knossos, it was unbearably hot (40+ degrees) and I recall how much cooler it felt inside the rooms.

Then now is the time to pack your bags for although the sun is shining, it’s pretty windy and doubtless the same on the Knossos side of the island!

Gorgeous!! My grandparents are from Crete And I still have cousins there. We were there about five years ago for three weeks and had such a fabulous time !

Hi Sarah! Yes, my relatives are from Heraklion. My papaou grew up there. My yiayia was actually from Ishmar but came to Crete as a young child. I adored Crete! We went to the other usual spots in Greece as well. Fortunately my mom was with us and she speaks fluently.

I don’t know that side of the island that well. We live close to Chania. Our Greek language skills are still pitiful but we have good reasons which I won’t go into now.
