Parrot in a Gilded Cage Double-Sided Standard Business Cards (Pack Of 100) by FirstNightDesign
When I posted The Merry Widow image the other week, BeetleyPete assumed (it was a compliment) that I had coloured the central image. In fact, I hadn’t, and the colours were on the original Play Pictorial Cover. However, Parrot in a Gilded Cage is a different matter. The illustration is a black & white sketch from one of my vintage Children’s Encyclopaedia and I coloured it. So there you go, Pete!

Take care and keep laughing!
Very pretty Sarah! I’m just wondering if this means you still enjoy colouring or whether this was coloured when you were a child?!! 🙂

I’ve chosen not to be insulted. 😀

I would have said that as a child’s colouring it showed remarkably advanced taste and discernment 😀

Thanks for the clarification this time, Sarah. The expression on the parrot goes well with the warning message on the card. I like to admire these birds from afar, having fallen victim to their powerful beaks in the past! I do think it works well either coloured, or as a black and white drawing, and is suitably quirky.
Best wishes, Pete. x

I’m afraid Monty Python has ruined me for seeing things parrot-ish as anything other than the Dead Parrot sketch.
