The Jungle Look

Playtime! This abstract took two seconds. I lie. It took about five minutes. I had an old photograph of leaves (probably weeds, although I’m sure the green-fingered among you will be able to tell me what it is) in our Cretan garden which I had meant to do something with for aeons.

The Jungle Look

I used a freebie texture from Design Cuts and placed it on top of the photograph. I  chose the ‘Difference’ blending mode in Photoshop.

The Jungle Look

There revealed was a rather captivating abstract with greens and golds and purples.

Have a bountiful weekend!

What do I call this? An abstract? A collage? I’m going for an ‘abstract collage’. It was playtime when I combined a texture layer from Kerstin Frank, a page of text with a clock from my 1920s Children’s Encyclopaedia, and owls and doric columns from The Graphics Fairy. I bet you didn’t guess there were owls in there!
