Halloween: The Final Frontier

This Avery Binder uses my latest Halloween design featuring a vintage image from The Graphics Fairy and which I’ve placed on a starry night background created with Photoshop brushes.   This is not a witch of which to be frightened, although I’m a little concerned at how tightly she’s hugging that cat!  Perhaps it’s a matter of butter wouldn’t melt and there’s a terrifying hag bursting to come out.  Maybe the real witch is hidden inside the enormous pumpkin.

Available on other Zazzle products and posted on  The Graphics Fairy‘s Brag Monday.

Mosque of the Janissaries

Mosque of the Janissaries

The perfect binder to keep all your travel plans in one place!  This is a digital painting of the mosque in the Venetian Harbour in Chania, Crete.  It is one of the oldest surviving buildings from the time of the Ottoman Empire and was built in 1645.  Worship took place in the mosque until 1923 when the Muslims left the island in an exchange between Greece and Turkey.  Janissaries is the Turkish word for ‘new troops’, men who were recruited, ironically, from the non-Muslim fraternity and worked as household troops and bodyguards of the sultan. Once containing the Chania museum, in recent years the mosque has been hosting small art exhibitions.

I’ve been spending the weekend on a design for romance, Dearest One. Here it is on a binder for all those love letters that the Royal couple will be writing to each other once Prince William’s duties take him away from his beloved!  This was created with various scanned images from my own collection of vintage books and illustrations and then topped off with a lovely sheet music cover girl from the early 20th century. Enjoy!

Take care and keep laughing!
