  1. I hadn’t heard of Martha Walter before. Those Ellis Island paintings are very powerful. They give a very different side of the story that America welcomed everyone to her shores.

  2. My grandparents came through Ellis Island, Martha Walter captured the look and feel of the place. I was too young to engage in a conversation with them about their experience, regardless of what awaited them, I thank my lucky stars that it was this land of opportunity that called out to them – for there go I.

  3. If the world has its way then we could see more Ellis islands and their use … I am sorry to say .. Our once integrated nations are splintering ever further apart as greed of those that have .. Want more as those that have little are forced to except less .. God help them before it’s too late to se the error of their ways …
