Thanks, Mary. I’m actually considering buying a framed version as it would look excellent in my living room!

That’s a good one, and another sale- Hooray!
I know they are only small things, but that’s how bigger things start.
Best wishes, Pete. x

I love the work of Bakst… we have his Sleeping Beauty series in the local Manor and they are amazing.

Likewise but until I came across Rachel Strong, I didn’t know he also painted like this. How marvellous to have the Sleeping Beauty series round the corner – I envy you the ability to see them anytime you choose.

It is a tad expensive to get in, even with the villager’s discount…but they and the other amazing artwork there make it worth it.

All art should be free. As I’m so often saying these days, it makes me spit with rage. There’s a wonderful botanical garden down here which my sister-in-law was always taking the children to. Two years ago, it had to start charging and few can afford it. The Isle of Wight, I’ve discovered, gets even less money than elsewhere in the country.

This is a National Trust property, so it doesn’t come cheap.

The hummers have arrived safely and are doing their damnedest to keep me cheerful. One fly in the ointment is that my GP didn’t put the iron tablets on repeat and I ran out on Friday and have already started to get breathless again. I have requested more which should be ready tomorrow. xxx
