Sight Update: Monday’s appointment with the ophthalmologist was a disaster. Why? Because the department had no knowledge of it. I could not remember the name of the person who had rung me, which might have led to an explanation. Either way, I wasted £50 on taxis. Yes, the taxis on the Isle of Wight are very expensive.

Frustration indeed. No appointment, and those crippling taxi fares. Rural cabs are expensive though. It costs £12 one way for us to go less than four miles into our nearest town, and more when it is late at night.
