These days I quite enjoy writing. What I hate is trying to sell what I write. But love Dorothy

Oh, trying to sell anything is grotesque! I could never sell myself as an actress. That was worse because you’re selling your looks, you hair colour, your height and so on, as well as your ability to act. Ugh!

sometimes writing can seem like a job… but guess what..? thats because for alot of us it is… even if its not and were not getting paid for it right this minute… but isn’t that ultimately the endgame here..? how many of us would love to get paid for every single thing that we write..? i know i most certainly would..!! great thought provoking post..!!

If I did writing as a job, I would undoubtedly begin to resent it. As it is, I am free to write what I like, whether others like it or not.
Ms Parker had some great lines. For no good reason, I always imagine them spoken by Maggie Smith.
Best wishes, Pete. x

I can understand Maggie Smith, although her American accent has never been anything to write home about! I always hear Anne Bancroft.

It’s Maggie with her English accent (Downton-style) that I hear. I never hear the American accent, and that ‘s just wrong, I know. Bancroft is much more suitable. I will have to read them again, thinking of her instead.
