First Night Design | Stallion with Groom #Chinese #Art

The artist of this Chinese painting is unknown. According to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where it is held but not on view, it is a copy after Han Gan, an artist who was working between 742 and 756.

It has to be admitted that my alteration of the image from an old Corel CD of ancient Asian art, is brighter. I like it better that way. So sue me! On the other hand, the original, which was painted on silk with ink and colour during the Northern Song dynasty (960–1127) and inscribed with calligraphy by Emperor Huizong, is so old that perhaps the original was as bright as my interpretation!

Take care and keep laughing!
