French artist Junior Fritz Jacquet has been fascinated by paper since a young age. Inspired by the traditional art of origami, Jacquet explores and experiments with folding and crumpling techniques, developing an innovative style all his own.

In a series entitled Masks, Jacquet squishes and crumples 40 different toilet paper rolls into unique and expressive faces which are then coated with shellac and various pigments. In addition to the masks below, you can find more on his website and Facebook page.

  1. I’m so sorry, I can’t stop laughing….forgive me, Puff. I read your post as ‘Toilet rolls squished in to faeces’ I was like WHAT?? and now I realise, for sure, that I have to GET GLASSES asap. Oh boy, I’m now calmed down, I’m composed, I’ve erased it from my mind. What wonderfully brilliant, clever creations. I shall never look at toilet rolls in the same way again…

    1. Nothing to forgive, Puff. You’ve given me my biggest laugh of the day. A quick glance at the thank you tweets of one of my twitter buddies always leads me to think she’s written TY 4 Farting. She hasn’t, of course, but it makes me laugh every time.

  2. I’m sure I’ve seen them before but didn’t realise what they were made of. Amazing. And Lottie, don’t get the glasses on. We (at least I) need a good laugh these days
