“Don’t judge a man until you have walked two moons in his moccasins.” Native American saying
Walk two moons
In my shoes.
Accept, don’t ‘tolerate’
The black, white or brown.
Love, don’t hate
The different, the down.
Praise, don’t diminish
Your neighbour or friend.
Why such a scrimmage?
This has to end.
It’s peace we all want,
Not hatred and war
Open your eyes:
Enough. No more!
Walk two moons
In my shoes.

Take care and keep laughing!
That is so beautiful. I’m from New Mexico and I’ve seen a lot of Southwestern art and I can honestly say this one has to be at the top of my list for purchase along with two other pieces. Great work. Lucy

Sarah, I love that Native American saying, and that is beautiful artwork! I’m mesmerized by it! BTW I don’t know if you’ve seen your place on my Heroes In My Garden page, but it wouldn’t have been complete without you! ❤ http://healingbeyondsurvival.wordpress.com/my-heros/

It is a wonderful saying, isn’t it. There’s also an excellent children’s book called Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech which is well worth reading. I don’t think I have seen that page of yours. I must go there immediately!

I’m overwhelmed by your comment – thank you so much. I don’t normally write poetry, just comic ditties so I’m amazed by your reaction, to be honest! Thank you again.
